Our Pediatricians


Dr. Mary Callahan

Dr. Mary Callahan completed her undergraduate training in Biology at George Washington University in Washington DC. She then attended the George Washington School of Medicine and graduated in 2004 with her medical degree. She completed her pediatric residency in Richmond, VA and shortly thereafter relocated to Fredericksburg, VA to practice with PL Physicians. Dr. Callahan first joined the PL team during medical school by spending her outpatient pediatric rotation time at Dr. Mancini’s office. Her experience in the Fredericksburg area and outlying tertiary care centers offered an easy transition to our practice.

 

 

 

Dr. Alice Noori

Dr. Alice Noori joined PL Physicians in 2008. She has over 16 years of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine experience. She is Board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1996. She completed her post-graduate Pediatric Residency training at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine. She received Best Resident Teacher Award during her training. She did Clinical Research in Obesity at Mount Sinai Hospital. New York City. She practiced at Maine General Health Associates (Kennebec Pediatrics) in Maine from 1995 until 2008. She served as Chairman and co-chair of the Dept. of Pediatrics.She was involved in Quality Improvement in Asthma Care and Asthma Education, and the Obesity task force. She served as consultant and advisor to the area schools, school-based health center and the Head Start Advisory Committee and was involved with Residency Teaching. She received a Service Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Maine Chapter and Service Excellence award from the Kennebec Health System. She graduated college Cum Laude and ranked 7th on the Dean’s List in Medical school. She moved to Virginia with her husband to be near their son who goes to the University of Mary Washington. She hopes to use her expertise in creating a medical home and quality care for her patients.

 

 

Dr. Jennifer Clark

Dr. Jennifer Clark completed her undergraduate studies at Niagara University in Buffalo, NY where she earned a B.S. in Biology. She went on to attend the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biological Sciences where she received a dual MD/PhD degree in 2004. Dr. Clark completed her graduate work at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the department of Molecular Pharmacology and Cancer Therapeutics. Her work on cell cycle regulation in the intestinal epithelium has been published in several peer reviewed journals. Dr. Clark completed her Pediatric Residency at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in 2007. Following res-idency, she joined Summit Pediatrics in Niagara Falls, NY as an attending physician. Dr. Clark relocated to Fredericksburg area in October of 2009 and joined PL Physicians.

 

 

 

Dr. Matthew Toohey

Dr. Matthew Toohey is originally from Monmouth County. New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers College with undergraduate degrees in English and Biology in 2000 and then from New Jersey Medical School in 2004. He completed his Pediatric training at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital in New Jersey and became Board Certified in Pediatrics in 2008. The same year he began private practice in Charlotte. North Carolina. He and his wife Sarah, a Registered Nurse, moved to Spotsylvania, Virginia in the spring of 2010 where he joined PL Physicians.
